چکیده

where CF and VF are the filter capacitance and voltage amplitude. See Fig. 1(a). To compute the ratio Vq/VF we use voltage division. We make the crucial observation that to calculate the qubit damping we must analyze the circuit impedances at the qubit frequency. Because the qubit is off resonance from the measurement resonator, the measurement resonator’s impedance Zr is lower than the impedance Zg of the coupling capacitor Cg, ie. Zr Zg. Therefore with voltage Vq across the qubit, we have a current Ig = Vq/Zg flowing through Cg. By similar reasoning Zκ Zr, so most of the current QF Cκ Cg Ig Vq Vr VF

Fast accurate state measurement with superconducting qubits.

Faster and more accurate state measurement is required for progress in superconducting qubit experiments with greater numbers of qubits and advanced techniques such as feedback. We have designed a multiplexed measurement system with a bandpass filter that allows fast measurement without increasing environmental damping of the qubits. We use this to demonstrate simultaneous measurement of four q...

Generation of Three - Qubit Entangled States using Superconducting Phase Qubits : Supplementary Information

The phase qubits in this device were designed to have critical current I0 ≈ 2 μA, capacitance C ≈ 1 pF, and inductance L ≈ 720 pH. The coupling capacitance was Cc ≈ 15 pF, chosen to give coupling strength 2g/2π ≈ 15 MHz at a qubit frequency of 6 GHz. The fabrication process is the same as has been used in previous experiments[1], using a sapphire substrate with superconducting Al films, AlOx tu...

Special issue on quantum computing with superconducting qubits

Ten years ago the first superconducting qubit was demonstrated experimentally [1]. By now quantum computing with superconducting qubits has become a subject of intensive experimental and theoretical research in dozens of groups around the world. The idea of this Special Issue of the journal is to show the status of experimental research in this area after the first decade of work. Most of the b...

Metastable superconducting qubit.

We propose a superconducting qubit design, based on a tunable rf SQUID and nanowire kinetic inductors, which has a dramatically reduced transverse electromagnetic coupling to its environment, so that its excited state should be metastable. If electromagnetic interactions are in fact responsible for the current excited-state decay rates of superconducting qubits, this design should result in a q...

Decoherence in Solid State Qubits

Interaction of solid state qubits with environmental degrees of freedom strongly affects the qubit dynamics, and leads to decoherence. In quantum information processing with solid state qubits, decoherence significantly limits the performances of such devices. Therefore, it is necessary to fully understand the mechanisms that lead to decoherence. In this review we discuss how decoherence affect...
